Checklist for Office Cleaning

An experienced cleaner knows the best sequence of office cleaning duties and with observation and competence, does not stop cleaning until all areas are clean. For those less experienced, this checklist can serve as both a sequence of cleaning duties, as well as a list of duties for a normal office cleaning. It can be used for shops and studios, as well as for business offices. The list can be checked off item by item as they are done. This checklist should be done daily for a busy office or less often in a low traffic office. It includes only a few actions of deep cleaning, which are usually done less than once per month.

Office Deep Cleaning Options

Professional janitors and building custodians know that periodically a deeper cleaning is required as part of proper building maintenance. Here are a few of the deep cleaning duties that should be done monthly or as needed.

  1. Use mineral deposit removal acid, such as CLR and/or pumice stone to remove mineral build-up from sinks, urinals and toilet bowls. Follow directions on product bottle.
  2. Use a carpet spot remover to remove spots from carpet. Follow directions on product bottle. Do a machine carpet cleaning when the traffic lanes are soiled.
  3. Use furniture polish on wood furniture to preserve and bring out color and shine.
